Poll: Congressional Dems in Trouble

In the latest CNN/ORC International generic congressional poll Republicans have a 49%-47% advantage, a dramatic reversal from just a month ago.

In wake of the recent government shutdown, Democrats held a strong 50%-42% advantage among registered voters asked to choose between a Democrat and Republican for Congress without identifying candidates.

The generic congressional ballot is a crude measure, but the shift may reflect public disapproval of the way Obamacare has been introduced in the past month. Democrats typically need a strong showing on the congressional ballot to make inroads in the House.
